You should also remember that everyone at the poker table is there to make money and not to make friends. It may seem like some players are befriending you while playing, but usually they are just trying to get information on you as well as make you play more conservatively against them. Most people feel bad knocking out friends at the poker table so a lot of players try and take advantage of this fact.

If you’re playing a long session you can walk from the table for short breaks at anytime without saying anything. If you need to go to the bathroom or have a smoke then you can just go and do so. If you would like to take a longer break in order to eat or play another game then you can ask for your seat to be reserved for up to an hour. You can just leave your chips on the table and the dealer will watch them for you until you come back.

The most important thing for first timers to understand when they play poker at the casino is that they need to follow proper etiquette.
